While I was in my final-year degree programme, he was rounding up his master's degree. I had always known him around school, and I admired him because he loved the Lord.  He didn't need to carry a big Bible around school to announce that he was a child of God. He simply exuded it through his words and actions. He was no "spiri-ko-ko," as we used to call it in those days. His character was simple and Christlike. We were acquaintances initially, but with time, we became friends, and our friendship quickly blossomed into love. The more I got to know him, the more I fell in love with him. I formed a new habit this year - listening to audio Bible. Lol. I just enjoy listening to God's Word on the go. It makes it possible for me to keep feeding on it more and more, and cover several books of the Bible in just one day. I still do my Bible study of course but listening to the Audio Bible gives me the opportunity to fill my mind with the best stuff and what is better than God's Word 🤷‍♂️? So this morning, I was listening to 1 Corinthians and then in Chapter 1, it talks about the wisdom of God wrapped up in the foolishness of the gospel of Jesus, and that was what brought about this article I am sharing with you now. This sounds funny but it is as real as real...unfortunately.  New York lawmakers have passed a bill that would replace terms like “mother” and “father” with gender-neutral alternatives such as “gestating parent” and “non-gestating parent” in parts of state law.  Supporters say the measure promotes inclusivity, while critics argue it unnecessarily removes traditional parental language. *Do you know what this is? I perceive that the Church seem to be distracted, and I believe that is one of Satan's strategies to keep us, and the world around us, confused about the message of faith in Jesus that we carry. Let's pay attention to what I am about to share. As always, I want to use Scripture to support what I say so that you can examine it for yourself. Whilst there are genuine pastors who call out false teachers of Christ's doctrine, there are also certain pastors who specialize in courting controversies with what they say.  Their mainstay is criticising - or should I say attacking - other pastors and labelling their teachings as false. Honestly, it is tiring to watch. One pastor claims that what he is saying is true, while another pastor insists that his own teaching is true. This period is the time when people will do almost anything to chase clout and create content😔.  They will lie, fabricate stories, go nude on social media, filter their looks, alter their appearance with AI, and do all sorts of things just for traffic, engagement, and 15 minutes of fame. Content creation has, in many cases, become an idol! I went to pick up my children from school and, just outside their gate, we saw a young woman filming a video selfie while walking in the middle of the road. I seized it as a teachable moment and said to my children: "You see what that young woman is doing? Please don't do it. If a car was coming in front of her or behind her at high speed, she might not even notice. It could hit her and possibly kill her simply because she chose to record a video while walking in the middle of the road." And who knows? Maybe she was even on TikTok Live.   On his birthday, he spent almost the entire day on his phone. We barely had time to talk😔. And honestly, it's frustrating trying to have a conversation with someone whose eyes and fingers are glued to a screen - constantly typing, constantly reading, constantly scrolling. At some point, I stopped talking. Not because I had nothing to say, but because it felt like I was competing with a device for his attention. And that hurts. Maybe it hurts because I am wired differently. I am the kind of person who likes to look at you when I'm talking to you. To me, eye contact says, "I hear you. I'm here with you. You matter." Just saw this now! It has been a long time coming. Lol. Mel Gibson is set to release a sequel to The Passion of the Christ. It is titled The Resurrection of the Christ. But there are a few changes though. The actor who played Jesus, Jim Caviezel, has reportedly been replaced by Jaakko Ohtonen. The reason shared was that Caviezel, now 57, was considered a bit older for the role. For him to play Jesus again, he would have had to be de-aged, hence the decision to use someone more age-appropriate. Death is a memo.  This was the thought that came to me when I read about the Nollywood actor, Alex Akubo's death. He died a few days ago on  Monday, 11th of May.  As expected, tributes are coming in from all over the place. But this is what I want to say to us: Whenever we hear about someone's death, don't just pay tributes and feel sorry.  Let it be a reminder to us to pause, step back, and think about our own lives. To reflect upon the fact that one day, we, too, will die. There is a reason why we are told in Ecc 7:2 that, "It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart." Let that sink in, because death is supposed to make us sober, confront us with reality, and push us to search our hearts and examine our lives. How am I living? Who am I hurting by my choices? Is there truly a God in heaven? Does salvation truly come through Jesus? What happens after death? ...

I accidentally saw a post by Marcus Rogers on his YouTube channel. He shared a picture with Joni Lamb and started with, “Rest in peace, God’s General.”  I was shocked 😲. Who was he talking about? Definitely not Joni Lamb! But she was the one with him in the picture! So I had to investigate further, and by the time I googled it, I began to see several reports that she had died...on the 7th of May, 2026. That was on Thursday. I became terribly sad. The followers of Jesus were alone with Him when they asked Him to explain the parable of the sower. They had moved beyond the crowd into intimacy. These were not just listeners - they were disciples. Last year, Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church pleaded guilty to allegations of child sexual abuse and was handed a 10-year sentence. Many people believe that when they have money, they won't have any more problems. But that's not true! As a matter of fact, more money more problems.  Money can be a blessing or a burden. When people say “money is everything,” they forget one truth: If you’re not prepared for money, it will control you instead of serving you. That's why God is very interested in preparing us for our next level before we ever step into it. Imagine giving a car to your 10 year old child just because you can afford to. That would be suicidal. God doesn't give us finances or responsibilities just because He can afford to do that. He would first ensure that we are ready to handle it because He knows if we step into that blessing too soon, it would destroy or deter us. So as the loving Father He is, He takes us through the process.  Be careful what you pray for. Be patient. Prepare your heart first.  Watch the powerful video below and gain better insight. We are getting worship all wrong. Worship is not a mood you enter into and get out of. It is not music tempo. It is not a performance. Worship is a lifestyle. The Bible says true worship is offering your everyday life—your eating, sleeping, working, and living—as an offering to God (Romans 12:1). You can sing, dance, lift your hands, and still not be worshipping if your heart is far from Him. True worship is a heart posture. It is valuing God above everything else. It is obedience. It is surrender. It is spirit-to-Spirit communion. Worship is God’s exclusive reserve—never to be given to anyone or anything else. My prayer for 2026 and beyond is this: That whatever we do, we do it heartily, as unto the Lord and not unto men (Colossians 3:23). That is true worship.

  Tomorrow will be just like any other day. The only difference is that it will no longer bear the name 2025, but 2026. Life will continue. A new year often gives us a chance to pause—to reflect, reset, and consider new plans, or even improve on old ones. It’s a beautiful opportunity to be intentional. God does nothing carelessly, and if He has brought us into 2026, it’s worth believing there is purpose attached to it. Perhaps this season is an invitation to step aside for a moment and ask Him what He desires for the year ahead. As they say, “Father always knows best.” Rather than walking into 2026 alone, there’s comfort in choosing to be led by God—by the One who knows the end from the beginning and gently shows the way. Christmas Clothes. That was the highlight of Christmas for us growing up. We couldn’t wait to wear our Mickey Mouse eyeglasses, paired with our brand-new Christmas clothes, and proudly show them off on Christmas Day. It was fun. That was why we looked forward to Christmas—the pomp and pageantry, the rice and chicken, the new clothes, the outings, the social gatherings, the laughter. For us, that was Christmas. And today, not much has changed. As Christmas draws near, the markets are brimming and bustling with people making purchases—goats, cows, chickens, bags of rice, spices, drinks.
