I accidentally saw a post by Marcus Rogers on his YouTube channel. He shared a picture with Joni Lamb and started with, “Rest in peace, God’s General.”
I was shocked 😲. Who was he talking about? Definitely not Joni Lamb! But she was the one with him in the picture!
So I had to investigate further, and by the time I googled it, I began to see several reports that she had died...on the 7th of May, 2026. That was on Thursday. I became terribly sad.
If you know the story of the recent happenings at Daystar Television Network, you will understand why I was doubly sad. First, I was sad because Joni is gone! Just like that. She lost her husband, Marcus Lamb, a few years ago during Covid. She remarried Doug Weiss about a year or two after Marcus passed on.

And now, a woman who was so full of life, someone I usually watched almost every morning on Daystar Television, is no more...just like that. I can't seem to wrap my mind around it. It still feels surreal.
The second reason I was sad was because of the incidents that started playing out later after her marriage to Doug Weiss. Not only was her marriage to Doug controversial, it brought about division in her home. She fired her son, Jonathan and then Jonathan and his wife accused their brother-in-law, Josh, the husband of Rachel Lamb Brown, of sexu@lly molesting their daughter.
Investigations started, and I remember in one of the clips where one of Joni’s daughters, Rebecca Lamb Weiss, said that their family was “dysfunctional.”
So I thought to myself, “Wow, I hope Joni was able to put her house in order before she passed on?”
With the earlier issues in her family, I hope there will be no problem with Jonathan, her son, assuming the role of the President of Daystar. But she fired him, so what’s next? Will Jonathan not fight to regain his role as President since that was Marcus Lamb’s desire for him? Will his sisters, especially Rachel, not oppose him? What of Doug Weiss, would he battle for the control of DayStar or stay away? Will Joni's children be suspicious of him and his motives at this time? Will there be a tussle for power, or will there be reconciliation and forgiveness?

These were my questions, but I trust that we will find out as time goes on.
I still can't believe Joni is gone, but she is...wow! All her friends on Joni’s Table Talk and on her band will miss her.
Yes, she will be missed. She died from complications of a back injury at her home in Bedford, Texas, aged 65.
Goodnight, Joni Lamb.
