"When you have a dream, don't say it". This is the culture of the land where it is believed that when you declare or share the dream God has given you, forces (including people and witches in your village) will work against you achieving it.

Joseph shared his dream and he was sold into slavery afterwards. He did not take that as a sign of failure or a negative final consequence of sharing his dream with others. He knew it was simply a process in the journey to the realization of his God-given dream.

So instead of giving up and going about his life his own way, he held on to integrity and righteousness. He never stopped trusting God. This we know in the way he conducted his life - life of faith in God. He prospered as a slave and as a prisoner until God elevated him indeed!!

We can stop complaining, and let God lead us through every circumstance, no matter how tough, staying rooted in His presence and true to Him all the way.

It was the expression of Joseph's identity, his gifts, talents etc even in prison (very unfriendly circumstances) that paved a way for his enthronement.

He made the best of his circumstances. He was not worried about what others had done to him rather he was worried about what to do for others. He didn't spend all day whining, complaining or blaming.

Make the choice not to walk by sight.

Joseph was a slave but didn't have a 'slave mentality. He was a prisoner but never possessed the 'prisoner mentality'. Never for once did he feel defeated.

He was so sure of his dream that the roughness of the road didn't deter him or make him shift his focus on God. He could have chosen to compromise and settle for the paltry luxury that Potiphar's wife would have offered him thereby missing the palace God had prepared for him.

Don't follow the shortcut or you will miss the BIG thing God has prepared for you. Faith on. Declare your dream.

Like my pastor would say, "Your fear id stronger than your faith if you refuse to declare your dream. The enemy doesn't want you to declare it because he wants to stop you from achieving that goal."
