8 yr olds should be taught about Pornography - Reseachers

They say children will inevitably be exposed to porn one or the other, which in extreme cases can trigger abusive behavior.

It is on these grounds that researchers in the University of Melbourne propose that lessons about pornography should be compulsory for schoolchildren as young as eight years old.

That teaching them about porn in a controlled environment can lessen the harm.

It found that children who sexually abused other children had often been exposed to pornography at an early age.

'They would watch pornography and act out what they had seen on a little cousin, niece or sister.' said one of the researchers.

Teaching 'pornography literacy' at primary school could help to prevent such behavior occurring in the future, the study found.

*Is this really the solution? Will it not make these young minds more curious to want to experiment? Is this not a subtle way to pollute the minds of more and more young children?

Yes, with way things are in this generation, sex educating our children earlier than usual is a must. Gone are the days when you have to wait for them to get to teen-age before you do that.

But as a Christian, if you must effectively sex-educate your child it's best you do it with God's Word as a referral.

Tell them what it is and why they shouldn't do it. They want to know. It's not about the STDs or to avoid unwanted pregnancy. No, it's not just about that. It's about what God wants and how He requires us to live.

Teach them to love God, to live pleasing and obeying Him. Tell them the rewards of obeying God in this. Pray always for them.

The change starts from the heart and spreads to everything else. Once they honor God in their hearts, sexual purity will be their desire.
