‘Testing the waters’ before getting married…does it really help?

Some people believe you can’t buy a car without testing it. Same goes for marriage. You need to know if the man you are settling for is a one minute man, good in bed, if his manhood is sizeable enough or if he is he potent. 

For the woman, can she keep you sexually satisfied, can she get pregnant? And the only way to find out is by 'testing the waters', in other words you have to sleep with the person.

But does it really help to test the waters?

 Kola got married to his woman. On their wedding night he found she was in her period so they couldn't have their very first sexual encounter. For the next 2 weeks his new bride was still bleeding. 

That was when he knew there was a problem. She then confessed to him that she had been battling constant blood flow for years. Kola was frustrated and angry because he hadn't been able to have sex with his new wife since they got married. Was this the price he'd pay for not 'testing the waters' before marrying her?

 This true story makes it a logical reason to ‘test the waters’, abi? Well, if I didn’t know better I would have said yes too but no, I disagree. For me , the Bible is my standard in everything and as appealing as testing the waters may sound, it clearly violates God's Word.


It is operating in human's myopic wisdom because only God and not this test can guarantee that everything will go sexually well in your marriage.

So what do you do? ‘Seek God’s will in all you do (even in your marriage and in your choice of a life partner) and He will show you which path to take’ (Pro 3:6). This is a clear cut truth and it's safer for you rather than sleeping with several people before you finally settle for one.

When I saw this, it made me shudder . The message was so blatant and it was on a children's cartoon. The scene showed two nude male and female characters, with the female holding the male' s genital. But from what I 'heard', it see ms to be the handiwork of some perverts who took a sce ne from a popular cartoon program - teen titans and cre ated that pict ure which is actually a link to a cartoon porn site.     A porn site with cartoon characters...who is their ta rget?
