When a woman proposes to her man...

'A Ugandan lady proposes to her much older boyfriend' . My first thought when I read that was, "This is an anomaly." Men are abandoning their position as the wooers and women are taking over. While some men just want to play, their women want something more lasting than the girlfriend title. They get tired of waiting for oga to propose, so they ask the "will you marry me" question themselves.  Sincerely I wonder what that relationship from onwards will be like. Will the woman be in charge of the wedding plans? Will she be the one to pay the man's dowry? Will the man take the woman's love for granted? Cos I believe for a woman to come to the point of proposing to her man, it's two things : she must really be in love with him or she is desperate. And if a man is not man enough to propose to the woman, it's either he is not ready or he doesn't really love the woman so much as to make her his wife. What you love, you ...

4 Characteristics of a faithful Christian

Powerful enough to share. It's a long read but a worthful one, so plea se take your time and assimilate. 1. Holiness is a priority. Charles Spurgeon rightly noted, "There will be three effects of nearness to Jesus—humility, happiness and holiness." If these three are not present, hard questions need to be asked: "Do I have a rebellious spirit? Do I love the things of the world more than the things of God? Have I let bitterness and pride set in?" We have to fight for holiness; our relationship with God is dependent upon it. Holiness produces faith and spiritual power; carnality produces faithlessness and a life void of spiritual power Carnality gives God "His due"—a few hours on Sunday—but forgets His call to "come out from among them (the world) and be separate." Holiness is a fire burning deep within. Do we stoke the flames and increase the heat or continually put them out? We are so "stoked" when it comes to the...

Hey, you have a mail!

My dear child,  Do not be afraid for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burnt up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD your God.  If I could give the nations in exchange for you, I can do anything for you. I care about you and what happens to you. My eyes are always on you 24/7. Don't feel neglected or abandoned. I know you will feel that way sometimes but I tell you, do not be afraid. The floods will definitely come, trials will arise, you will face periods of difficulty but I want you to know they will not be the end of you! They won't consume you rather they will make you stronger and more faith-full.  I love you.    Your Father, God

"I don't believe in religion, hell" - Jay-Z speaks on his religious beliefs

Jay-Z spoke about his religious beliefs to New York City radio personality Angie Martinez in a 2010 interview. While the rap mogul said he does not believe in Christians, Muslims or hell, he did say he believed in one God. "If people must know my religious beliefs, I believe in one God. I don't believe in religion. I don't believe in Christians or Muslims. I think all that separates people." He went on to add, "I think it's all the same God, and I don't believe in hell. But as far as God, of course I believe in God."

Clinic glorifies abortion; calls it 'sacred, a blessing and a family value'

A controversial billboard campaign calling abortion "sacred," "a blessing," "family value," "life-saving," and "a second chance," among other things, was launched by the largest abortion clinic in Ohio. They put up 16 billboards to this effect. As to why they put up the billboards they said they "want to push people to think about abortion in new, diverse ways." "We want the people in our community who have had abortions to know that they're not alone." The clinic further argues as part of its latest campaign that abortion is "normal and necessary," "good medicine," "safer than childbirth" and "right for me."  "To a physician, abortion may be a medical procedure that takes less than 10 minutes to perform. To a parent struggling to make ends meet, abortion may be the best way to love and care for your family. To a young person, abortion may be the chance ...

THE PROPOSAL (Episode 2)

Years on, she was still healing...not from the physical burns but the ones in her heart. She had to deliberately try to stop hating her roomie for permanently destroying her life. It took a large dose of therapy, counseling , Scripture meditation and prayers to get her to let go of bitterness and forgive her late roomie.  About a year ago, she got a job to work in a construction firm which was another miracle. It was so easy to notice people were uncomfortable around her so she kept mostly to herself. She didn't have friends. Then came Ed. He was different. He doesn't seem to be embarrassed at all by her presence and was more than glad when both of them were paired to work together. Ed's father, an ex-minister, owned the construction company.  For seven months they worked closely on a project and it had been awesome. She liked him but that was all there was to it. As much as Ed treated her lovingly, she didn't want to start reading meaning in...

"Why do men of God give contradicting annual prophecies?" - Reuben Abati

I pulled this from Reuben Abati's viral write-up titled Fr. Mbaka and the voice of God 'cos it's thought provoking. It's not the full article. Here's the excerpt: 'Prophecies and predictions by Christian pastors often mark the end of a year and the beginning of another in Nigeria…egged on by the media, looking for juicy material for their overtly religious and superstitious readers, these pastors sometimes overreach themselves as they dish out prophecies as if they were some kind of annual merchandise.  This year has not been different with interesting prophecies offered by Apostle Johnson Suleman, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka and a host of others.   What I find curious every year, is that each Pastor ends up saying something different from the other, whereas what we know is that there is only ONE GOD – absolute and indivisible. The teleological concept of God is monotheistic, but tod...

"Hollywood lifestyle is not fulfilment; it's a whole lot of deception" - former Playboy actress. Talks about the darker side of show biz

This is the awesome story of a now Christian actress and wife of actor/filmmaker David A.R. White, Andrea Logan White and she wrote it all in her book Perfectly Unfinished. She said God used her wild party life at the Playboy Mansion and friendship with magazine mogul Hugh Hefner to help her come to Jesus even while she was on "the wrong path." Logan White and Husband Logan White revealed that God used Hefner as an odd father figure in her life. When she was grappling with an eating disorder, he was the one who actually encouraged her to eat with a promise to pose in his promiscuous magazines. The Playboy founder even provided a limo for her to attend church when she first turned to God. Logan grew up in a broken home and eventually turned to Hollywood as a refuge. After spending some time chasing the Hollywood lifestyle, she realized that only God could "fill the void." "Somehow, God used him (Hefner) in that world to really get me to ...

THE PROPOSAL (Episode 1)

EPISODE ONE: "Why me?" Steph asked, her eyes barely looking at his face like she was too ashamed to even meet his eyes but she could feel them on her face almost caressing her and tingling her mixed emotions.  "Because I love you. Because you are the most amazing woman I have ever met," Ed confessed, his voice passionate and determined at the same time.  "You can't possibly love me like this!" she was aghast, her eyes moist with tears.  "Ed," her eyes rose to meet his for the first time after he threw his unbelievable question. "...you don't know what you are asking for." "I do Steph. I know exactly what I am asking for. I know exactly what I want and it is you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you!"  He was pretty convincing but a part of her just don't want to believe that Ed would choose her. Of all the pretty, wholesome women out there, he would choose to...

Here are 4 awesome faith-based movies you need to watch if you haven't

Few days ago, I watched this incredible movie God's not Dead. Awesome. Awesome! I felt I should share this to encourage us to watch more and more faith-based movies this new year. These are the kind of movies you watch and you are so pumped up, so encouraged, so strengthened in your faith in Jesus. - God's not Dead (1 and 2) is amazing. I just kept laughing and clapping most of the time. What happens when you bring God to court? Who do you think is gonna win?  The story is simply based on a young man (Part 1) who defended his faith in school by proving to his atheist lecturer and his fellow classmates that God's not dead.  Part 2 is the story of a teacher who was charged to court because of her faith for daring to quote the words of Jesus in a History class in a  school system where such was banned. In the end, despite all odds, God proved Himself that He is very much alive! Jesus wasn't just a fictitious character, He was real! Please please you really need ...

Well-liked Catholic priest accused of inappropriate behaviour with underage boy jumps to his death

Well-liked priest, Father James Csaszar, had been suspended and under investigation for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an underage boy before jumping to his death from an 82-story hotel in Chicago. Officials say he was under investigation for leading a double life prior to his death at the sleek Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel. The Bishop of Columbus said concerning what the priest was accused of: "On Nov. 7, Father Csaszar was placed on an administrative leave by the Diocese of Columbus after diocesan officials were made aware of excessive and questionable text and telephone communications with a minor and potential misuse of church funds while serving as pastor of St. Rose Parish, New Lexington." People were actually stunned by the news of the priest's inappropriate behavior. "You could always talk to him and felt comfortable speaking with him, and he was always there to listen to you no matter where he was on the street or what it was. He...

Super-wild ex-lesbian shares her story; says Gays are not 'born that way'

Emily Thomes, a former lesbian is presently a Christian speaker and a blogger. Her first romantic relationship with another girl began when she was 15 years old. She says that she came out to other people, and reasoned that God would be accepting of her relationship. "God being love meant God was nice and God was chill with what you were cool with," she said of her thinking at the time. Emily Thomes "By 18 and 19 and 20, I was super wild and in serial relationships with women," Thomes reveals. She adds that she ended up getting engaged to a woman who had two children when she entered nursing school. At 22, however, she got invited to a Bible study. "I expected them to bring up my lifestyle really early, and use that as justification for not coming back, so I agreed to go," Thomes recalled. Different women in that circle were talking about different experiences they had. I have nothing like that, and it bugged me. I could not stop thinki...

One good reason why you should stop making NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

I'm not saying making new year resolution(s) is bad.  What I am saying is what is the use making it when you don't carry it out to the end? 😉 Catch my grift?  It's okay and very normal when people resolve to be better, do better and live better each time a new year unfolds. But quick question: How many people really accomplish their resolutions?  Lol. I have been there too.You know that feeling nau . That determined feeling you get once it's new year:   "Oh this year I'm going to stop being hot tempered. "  "I want to a better husband and stop cheating,"  "I want to start a new business. No more laziness. " "I want to be a better mother🍼 or father, stop drinking or womanizing or nagging etc," and you set out as one bent to accomplish...  Few weeks, one month the determination dies down and out and you return to status quo - it's business as usual again. All the initial gra gra ...
