The Rise of Closeted Christian Witches: Shocking narratives!

Christian witches.

It doesn’t just sound like an oxymoron—it is an oxymoron because those two words should never exist together… at all!

Yet, this is the reality. There is a growing group of people who identify as closeted Christian witches, and some of them may be singing in your choir or even leading prayers in your church.

An ex-witch revealed:

“There is a huge—and I mean huge—online community of closeted witches. They teach each other how to look Christian so they can remain in their Christian homes. They are taught how to do spells using the Psalms instead of spell books. So you think, ‘Oh, my daughter is always reading the Psalms. She’s always in the Bible. She’s on fire!’ No—she’s using it because witches use the Psalms as well.”

Ex-witch opens up on Closeted Christian witches 

According to her, many do this because they fear being thrown out of their Christian homes.

Another woman who confessed to being a closeted witch said she sings in her church choir. She explained that when she praises God, she doesn’t just praise he—she praises she, mother, and even the earth.

She said,

“I still love going to church. I love Jesus. I love learning about His teachings and some things in the Bible.”

She ended her video by asking:

“But can we use the word channel? Can we bring in a little mysticism? Can we bridge these worlds? Are we allowed to still be witches… in church? What do you think?”

My answer? A resounding NO.

It is impossible for light and darkness to coexist. There is no middle ground. You can not love Jesus and love Satan at the same time.

2 Corinthians 6:14 says:

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

And 1 John 1:5 reminds us:

“God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all.”

There is not even the smallest trace of darkness in God. You are either for Him or against Him.

*This calls for spiritual alertness on our part. Sadly, some churches have become so spiritually dead and powerless that they have created an environment where such practices can coexist comfortably within the church.

Scripture warns us not to be ignorant of Satan’s devices. He is not playing or joking. If you are not taking your relationship with God seriously, now is the time—otherwise, you risk being swept away.

That said, the gospel of Christ must always be communicated in love. The Bible calls it speaking the truth in love. Unfortunately, many believers have become judgmental in their approach, and in doing so, we push away the very people Christ died for.

If we would show them the genuine love of Christ—if we would reveal who Jesus truly is—we would be able to reach some of them.

As the former witch explained, many who identify as closeted Christian witches are driven by fear—fear of rejection, fear of being cast out of their homes.

So the question remains: How do you deal with a loved one who is into witchcraft? How do you respond to them? 

I pray God gives us wisdom in dealing with loved ones who dabble in these practices. Pray that God opens their eyes because as 2 Corinthians 4:4 says:

“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God." 

But going down to 2 Cor 4:6, we see that there is hope, 

"For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ."

So, if God could redeem you and me and cause His light to shine in our hearts, it tells us that even these witches can be redeemed. Let us not treat them as irredeemable. May they experience the genuine love of God through us, because they are longing for it.

These people are needy, but sadly, they have sought fulfillment in the wrong places. Let us help them find true satisfaction in the right place—Jesus. This is why we have been called.

And saying the truth in love doesn’t mean tolerating or accommodating this demonic lifestyle. It shouldn't even be heard of in our churches!

May they see Jesus in you and experience God's love through you. And may be perhaps, they will turn to Christ and be saved.
