Hearers and Doers. Faith and Actions Part 2

There is a connection between prosperity and our actions. And I want to show you if you will keep up with me.

What I am doing via these articles is to show you what God has shown me, and it's simply amazing.

James 1:22,25 says, "But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves...But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty (the Word) and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does."

Notice the statement 'he will be blessed (prosper) in what he does'. Prosperity comes by doing what the Word requires.

Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" (Matt 7:21-23).

So this makes me ask the question: Is it possible to operate in the gifts of the Spirit, claim Jesus as Lord yet not showing Him in your actions,  and miss out from making heaven?

Think about it a little bit.

Jesus is big on our faith and actions going together. It is not enough to hear or say. There must be a physical change in our actions and character because when our heart is transformed, it will become more and more visible that an internal supernatural transformation occurred within our spirit.

"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock..." (Matt 7:24).

Here, Jesus again emphasizes on hearing and doing what He says. If what I hear of God's Word is not provoking actions, then there is a problem. I will be like the first set of people in the parable of the sower who heard the Word and that's it. They did not do anything with the Word they received. It entered through one ear and came out through the other.

Not only will the man who hears and does the Word prosper (James 1:22,25), he will also be very stable (Matt 7: 24-27). There is nobody more stable than a man who stays with the Word. No matter the situation, he remains unmoved. The varying situations of life has no effect on him because he is rooted by the waters, founded on the rock.

The proof that we are Jesus's disciples is in the fruit we bear. 

"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be My disciples" (John 15:8). We are like the seed that fell on the good soil and bore fruit.
