My husband and I talk often about the things married couples do which, unknown to them, literally create a conducive atmosphere for infidelity in their marriage. I really wish that married couples would make it a habit to discuss topics like this to keep them aware and alert to Satan’s schemes.
Marriages are under attack and we need to be well prepared to be able to resist the enemy when he comes, and it all starts by being informed (2 Cor 2:11). Let’s not give the devil a foothold in our marriage through little acts of foolishness.
Sometimes, people who cheat on their spouse do not set out to do so. It was never their intention from the get go. It just happened – starting as an innocent and harmless association with the opposite sex that escalated into what they never intended it to be. What they did not realize early enough was that they were creating the perfect scenario for perfidiousness – feelings form, attraction grows, lust sets in and an unhealthy affair is born.
God created us emotional as well as sexual beings and if care is not taken, we can develop feelings for someone else. Therefore, we should watch out and stay off any activity that builds up feelings of attraction for someone other than our spouse.
