Are Hurricanes Harvey and Irma God's judgement?

Some pastors have said what they thought of the Hurricanes - they are God's judgement. Do you think so?

 In Houston, which is said to the the fourth largest city in America, 60 people died and thousands were rendered homeless. 

Science said that the hurricane was basically formed by climate change and the weather but evangelical leaders say that it was as a result of homosexuality. 

Few weeks after Hurricane Harvey happened, Irma came along and so far 9 people are reported dead including a two year old. Sad.

American Christian actor Kirk Cameron said that God sent the hurricanes to teach us humility, awe and repentance. 

In a video with over 250,000 views, he said, 'We know that weather is sent to cause us to respond to God in humility, awe and repentance. There isn't a random molecule in the universe, I believe, but that God is the Lord of the wind and the waves. What this should be doing for all of us is causing us to remember that it's God that supplies our life, breath and everything else so that you and I would reach out to him.'

He told parents to tell their kids: 'Remind them that God is the blessed controller of all things and He is the one who gives us peace, security and strength in the midst of the storm and He uses this to point us to Him and to his care for us.'

He quoted The Bible’s Old Testament and said that God 'causes storms to happen for punishment, or to water his land to demonstrate his faithful love.'

And trust, the video didn't go down with many on Twitter with someone saying, 'if you weren't such an ignorant I would respond to your stupidity. If your GOD is a good God why this world is upside down?'

Oscar award winner, Jennifer Lawrence said the hurricanes were as a result of mother nature's rage against Donald Trump and his supporters. 

So, are hurricanes a supernatural occurrence? I believe so too. Yeah, I do. It's not ordinary just the way the constant outbreak of diseases in our world are not ordinary. 

Today we hear of Ebola etc, HIV remains incurable. Few days ago WHO announced that a drug resistant gonorrhea is coming out - to mention but a few.

Pestilence. Why does the world experience it? It's as a result of SIN. It's all there in the Bible. These things don't just happen. 

But they will ask if God is a loving God why would He allow such devastation? They always push the blame on God but truth is it's not God's fault. It's us. The choices we make; the seeds we sow. When you sow corruption, you don't intend to reap goodness do you? 

All these perversions, rebellion etc have consequences. We turn our backs on God, His Word and His leadership and then turn around to blame Him when things don't go well.

Has He not done everything for us, even given us His Word to guide us in the right and safe path? Yet we choose to reject Him.

Whenever Israel sinned, God stirred up troubles for them, why? Because He hates them? No. To bring them back to Himself. And once they recognize that and enthrone Him as God, their adversity ceases.

It is to show them that the safest place they can be is in Him. So, don't blame God. Blame the choices we make. Blame the seeds we sow. Blame the perversion all over the world - the homosexuality, lesbianism, Satanism, incest, sexual immorality and every type of sin imaginable. 

Blame rebellion cos God has nothing to do with it. He loves us so much. So much we can't even imagine and all He wants is for us to know Him and be with Him for all eternity. But He won't force us, only point us to the Truth. That's why man has a free will.

God is not happy with what is happening. It is not His will. His will is for us to enjoy peace, comfort, abundance and joy. But how can we when we reject Him; when we don't know Him? 

So these events - the wars, the pestilence, the hurricanes, the earthquakes, plagues and every other natural disaster serve as warnings and signs of the end time. See Matt 24:5-8
