Do you know Dubai's secret life? It's a prostitution hotbed!

Chakarova is a female photo journalist who investigated Dubai’s secret life after she spoke with a 19 year old girl  trafficked to Dubai for sex serving more than 30 clients a day against her will. She says:

‘Dubai was once valued for its oil. Today it’s a tax free haven for tourists and guest workers, fun men with disposable cash, busy schedules and persistent loneliness. Nearly 85 percent of the populace are foreigners with men outnumbering women with 3 to 1.
It was difficult to get anyone to talk openly about prostitution. When I arrived at a night club it seemed like any other but it didn't take long before I was propositioned and I played along while my camera woman captured the whole proposition with a hidden camera in her handbag.

Dubai prostitutes refer to themselves as business women. Price depends on nationality: Chinese are the cheapest, $150. Then Africans and Eastern Europeans. Middle Eastern women fetch the highest amount of up to $1000 per night.
Though most of these prostitutes were lured to Dubai with promises of legitimate jobs like child care or waitressing, once they realize the amount of money they can make in clubs, the abundant cash in selling sex, it’s hard to turn down.
A man from Tunisia who propositioned the me said that every woman in Dubai has a price and many there can afford to pay it.

Tsar, a female PR executive from Singapore said, "People get into prostitution without realizing it. It becomes an attractive and lucrative trade. You really can make a lot of money. Even I was curious once about how much I can make...”
For a traditionally Muslim country, a human right activist explained it away as unavoidable consequence of modernization. He also said the government is scared of regulations that may turn off businesses and investors.
For now in the clubs of Dubai, there appears to be no efforts to enforce laws against prostitution.
Sasha from Siberia said, "...it's easy to make money in this country." And when I asked if she was fulfilled despite the money she makes, she said no.’

On Chakanova’s last day in Dubai, her room was ransacked, her equipment and reporting materials were stolen. Her room was the only one vandalized in the hotel. Initially the front desk refused to call the police. The next morning, her camera woman was detained by security at the airport and her stuffs confiscated because they had been watched and followed. It was only after making a scene that they returned the tapes saying they had mistaken her identity. Her luggage didn't return till a month later.
