He noticed her attitude has become snobbish and offensively callous. No more the radiant, heart-warming smile. All that have been replaced by the cold, cynical look of a woman who is fed up and wants out. This occurred few days after he silently announced his inability to buy her the shoes she requested for- by actually not buying her the shoes days later. She was the umpteenth girl he was dating and sincerely he was scared stiff to lose her.
"How much do you even have in your account?" She asked. "I want to see..."
Like a sheep, he took her to an ATM to make the 'revelation'. That was the last straw. She left him without uttering a word. When he called her later the next day, she asked him,
"Hope you are browsing for a new girlfriend?"
The guy was shocked a bit but part of him felt she was just kidding. Casually he said,
"No, I'm not. Are you?"
And she replied, "Yes. I'm browsing for a new boyfriend." His heart sank. That was how she broke up with him.
Now it makes me wonder guys, was it wise that he showed the girl his account at all? I believe he did it out of desperation cos really it wasn't a smart move o! For a lady to do that, me thinks she has no respect for him and does not love him sincerely. The sincere kind of love is when one loves you for what you are, not what you have. It is one of the litmus test for true love and a sure way to discern materialistic babes from the unmaterialistic.
If there are such guys out there, I'd say: Don't be discouraged. You are special. God always has His way with things. He will continue the elimination process until your wife comes your way. So don't feel bad when she, who doesn't love you for who you are, says no. Marriage isn't a trial and error thing. Yes, and sincerely, the above narrative really happened.
